Hardware for monitor mode captures
Note: Acrylic products work with all WiFi adapters.
Acrylic Wi-Fi Sniffer makes use of current and accessible hardware for capturing in monitor mode (promiscuous mode) in Windows.
Remember that you can capture in native mode with any WiFi card. Learn the differences between monitor mode vs. native mode.
WiFi hardware that supports monitor mode in Windows is common and inexpensive. These are conventional WiFi cards that have been tested to work properly in Acrylic Wi-Fi Sniffer to capture WiFi traffic in monitor mode.
Acrylic Wi-Fi Sniffer integration capabilities are outstanding, allowing these cards to take full advantage of their potential: capture in all 2.4 and 5GHz (a/b/g/n/ac) standards, in all channel widths (20/40/80/160 MHz) including Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) measures, and total integration with other tools such as Wireshark to capture WiFi traffic in monitor mode.
